Lloyds British - Slinger Signaller - Course FAQs

    About the Course

    Q1. What is a Slinger/Signaller?
A Slinger/Signaller is a trained operative who helps keep crane operators safe, by directing the operator when parts of the site aren't visible. They communicate using standard hand signals or radio and correctly attach and detach loads with slings and lifting equipment. A slinger/signaller is not only responsible for their own safety, but also the safety of colleagues and the wider site, making this a crucial role in any lifting operation.
    __________________________________________________________________________

    Q2. What is Slinger/Signaller training?
This course aims to support delegates with the skills and knowledge to safely sling loads to a lifting appliance (crane), using a range of lifting accessories. It also covers delivering clear signals to the crane operator to help them move loads safely, in line with HASAWA 1974, LOLER, PUWER and BS7121.
    __________________________________________________________________________
